14/7 Claire - Arriving in Tokyo

Arriving in Japan was much easier than we thought, we had heard tales of masses of people, overpowering heat and absolutely no way of getting around due to the language barrier. We had worked ourselves up to a bit of a nightmare introduction but it was all relatively easy. I guess we should not get too complacent as the fact Tokyo has most signage in both Japansese and English it’s not exactly too hard. Later in the trip we go out of the capital, let’s see how the country kids do then ;o)

We have sorted our Japanese rail cards which mean we have free rail travel from Friday for two weeks and our Plasmo cards (like an Oyster card) that are getting us around Tokyo over the next few days.
